External Traffic Sources
See which external pages visitors used before clicking your share links, and evaluate promotion channels such as forums, communities, and blogs.
How to Get There
Sidebar Files & Sharing → External Traffic Sources (/user/file-sources). If the menu is hidden, the site owner has not enabled this feature.
Referrer Statistics (Charts)
The Referrer statistics section at the top includes:
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Visit trend | Line chart of visits in the selected range |
| Top files by visits | Which shared files get the most clicks |
| Top referrer URLs | Which external sites send the most traffic |
You can switch the trend range (e.g. last 7 days / 30 days, as shown on the page).

Visit Details
The Visit details section below lists each visit in reverse chronological order:
- Visit time
- Shared file
- Source website (Referer; shows "Direct link or unknown source" when absent)
- Visitor type (signed-in user / guest)
Search by file name keyword and browse with pagination.

Relationship to Earnings Dashboard
The "Share link opened" step in the Earnings Dashboard operations funnel also depends on source tracking. If the site owner has not enabled tracking, neither page can count opens.
